Granville Henry “Sticks” McGhee: “Whiskey, Women & Loaded Dice”

Granville Henry McGhee, known as Stick or Sticks, because he pushed older brother Brownie McGhee, a more famous blues singer, in a wagon with a stick because Brownie had polio. Stick’s most famous song was “Drinkin’ Wine, Spo-Dee-O-Dee,” although the original song’s lyrics were not suitable for popular music. Didn’t make much money from music, quit in 1960, died in 1961 at 44.
