Frank Sinatra & Louis Armstrong: “Birth of the Blues”

Today is the day Frank Sinatra was born, 95 years ago. And whatever Sinatra’s faults, he was a pioneer in race relations, writing on the problems of racism for Ebony Magazine, pushing for opportunities for black performers, and appearing with Nat King Cole — the first black to host a national TV show — when others wouldn’t.
