Carl Perkins: “Honky Tonk Gal”

On the anniversary of the death of Carl Perkins, who helped change the music scene forever more than half a century ago. Wrote Blue Suede Shoes and Honey Don’t, etc. Born in 1932 in Tennessee the son of a sharecropper, grew up with gospel. George Harrison attended and played at his idol’s funeral. Paul McCartney: “If there were no Carl Perkins, there would have been no Beatles.” Died in 1998 at 65.
